I want to take a moment to pay tribute to Bill (or Billy, as I knew him) Cunningham. He was famous for his extraordinary photography. But I got to know him as a director. He cast and directed me a number of years ago in a play, "Region," at Musical Theater Works in New York City. The play was amazing, with some of the best music I've ever had the honor to sing. It was about Catholicism, homosexuality, AIDS, Buddhism, and finding peace in one's own life and loves. 

Billy was great to work with. I LOVED working with him. He was a sweet, smart, gentle man. I hadn't spoken with him in years, but we always were on good terms. RIP Bill Cunningham, and thank you.
